Bio

Ms. Elise Goodman knew from an early age that she wanted to be a violinist, coming from a long line of musicians and music teachers including jazz great Benny Goodman. She began performing as a soloist with area orchestras and on TV from the age of 10, going on to finish her pre-college training with Robert Lipsett at the Colburn School for the Performing Arts and later graduating from the Juilliard School where she studied with Robert Mann (founder and first violinist of the Juilliard Quartet), Dorothy DeLay and Masao Kawasaki.

Ms. Goodman’s solo, recital and chamber music performances have taken her to venues throughout the United States and Europe including the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie’s Weill Hall, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, the Mendelssohn-Salle of the Gewandhaus, and the Concertgebouw. She has been soloist with the New West, Santa Barbara, Brentwood-Westwood, Colburn Orchestra da Camera, Colburn Chamber, Ventura, Conejo and Kishwaukee Symphonies.

An avid chamber musician, Ms. Goodman has performed at festivals such as the Ravinia Festival’s Institute for Young Artists where she performed with pianist Yuja Wang, the Spoleto Festival due Dei Mondi, the New York String Seminar and the Schleswig Holstein, Utah and Aspen Music Festivals.
